Anchor woman bit on-air by rescued dog

Posted on February 9th, 2012 No Comments

A Denver anchor woman, who was doing a segment on an Argentine mastiff that was rescued from an icy lake, was bitten on the face live on the air.

The local television segment was meant to praise the firefighter who saved the dog the day before. The three year-old, 85 pound dog was sitting next to its owner when the anchor woman knelled down to get closer. It was when she got close to its face that it attacked.

She was rushed to a hospital and underwent reconstructive surgery that night, which surgeons say was successful. The mastiff was taken to a local animal shelter where it will be quarantined for ten days.
