California councilman files suit after dog bite

Posted on August 29th, 2011 No Comments

A California councilman has filed a lawsuit after he was involved in a dog bite attack a year ago.

The attack caused the man’s clothes to be ripped and the dog bite tore his skin. The court awarded the councilman $360.14 for medical expenses plus $300 in legal fees and $500 in pain and suffering.

The incident occurred in Montevalle Park when a Labrador-Rhodesian ridgeback attacked the man unprovoked. The dog owner said that she offered to pay for the costs out of pocket and that court was not needed, but the man filed the lawsuit shortly after.

The man said that he filed the suit because the amount of medical bills will only increase because he was looking into corrective surgery for the scar on his hip.
