A 12-year-old is currently recovering after he was attacked by a pit bull in Huron County.

According to police, the accident occurred as the boy rode his bike down North Van Dyke Road when the pit bull somehow broke free from his chain and began to chase the child. The child fell off the bike while being chased and the dog then bit him several times all over his body.

The owner of the dog then ran outside and was able to get the dog off of the child, the dog was quarantined for 10 days and now police will discuss the dog with its owner to decide on charges.

The child was taken to Huron Medical Center to be treated and was given multiple stitches.A Michigan lawmaker recently proposed a law that would ban pit bulls, but it was it was stopped.
