Child’s death blamed on dog attack

Posted on March 27th, 2012 No Comments

A four year-old boy from Victoria, Texas found dead Monday morning is believed to have been mauled to death by a neighbor’s dog. The boy’s father called police after his son wandered off while he was washing a car in the driveway.

Over a hundred people began searching for the little boy Sunday night. He was discovered less than a half mile away in a neighbor’s yard where five dogs were restrained. Authorities believe only one dog, a pit bull mix, was responsible for the fatal attack.

Police say that all five dogs were restrained in the backyard and could only come in contact with a person who came within their range. An investigation into the tragic accident is still ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the child’s family during this difficult time.
