High number of strays in Detroit may cause a rise in animal attacks

Posted on September 24th, 2013 No Comments

According to the American Humane Society, around 4.7 million people are bitten by dogs each year. A recent Associated Press article talks about how Detroit residents in particular live in fear of a high number of stray dog packs. Although there is currently an initiative to count these stray dogs, the exact number is unknown. Some residents are calling for immediate action to remove these strays, instead of counting them.

These stray dogs are often the cause of a pet owner no longer being able to care for their animal, and dumping it in the streets. Acts like this, or other negligence from a pet owner, may result in injuries, permanent scaring, costly medical bills, and psychological trauma for a victim of a dog attack.

Our legal team at Ravid & Associates, P.C., is here to defend Michigan victims of dog attacks and their families. If you or a loved one has suffered injuries from a dog bite, please call 877-PET-BITE to speak with an experienced animal attack attorney.
