Jogger in critical condition after pit bull attack

Posted on January 3rd, 2012 No Comments

A 62 year-old man jogging along Lake Michigan in Chicago’s Rainbow Beach Park is in critical condition after two 70 pound pit bulls attacked him yesterday morning.

Two residents who live nearby came out to help the man as another called 911. One man tried to get the dogs off the man by hitting them with a large stick, but they would not release their bite. The jogger was bitten on his face, arms, and legs. Local police shot the dogs when they tried to attack them.

The owners of the two dogs have not been found. Both pit bulls were wearing identical collars but did not have tags nor were they micro-chipped. If found, he or she could face up to $10,000 in fines and six months in prison.
