Man bitten by pet cobra

Posted on November 28th, 2011 No Comments

A 30 year-old man is expected to recover after he was bitten on the hand by his pet albino monocled cobra.

Police have said that the man called emergency responders to his house early last week. Snake experts say that the venom in cobras affect the nervous system. If the venom goes through the body quickly enough, the body will begin to shut down.

Anti-venom for the bite had to be flown from Florida. Luckily, it was transported quickly enough to save the man. Neighbors say the man owns several snakes.

Venomous snakes are legal to buy online, but experts strongly urge against owning them.
