Posted on June 21st, 2011 No Comments

A man has been charged after his dog got loose and bit the mail carrier.

According to officials, the 47-year-old mail carrier was delivering mail at 12:30 p.m. on Springdale Road when a dog ran up and bit him. The dog was  a tan mastiff owned by a man that lived on that road.

The mail carrier then went to the hospital where he had to receive several stitches. The dog’s owner was charged with unlawfully allowing a dog to run freely and for not having a rabies tag on the dog. Police have said that the dog’s rabies vaccines were not current.
