New ordinance placed on dangerous dogs

Posted on May 16th, 2011 No Comments

A new ordinance has been placed upon dangerous dogs in Lincoln Park after a recent City Council meeting.

The new dog ordinance was put into affect in early May after it was revised a third and final time. The ordinance states that a dangerous dog, or one that bites or causes serious injury to a person or another animal, will not be punished if they attack a person or animal that is trespassing on its property.

A new provision was also added to dogs that attack while protecting their puppies. These amendments took months to decide and the changes make up the “Dangerous Dogs and Potentially Dangerous Dogs” code.

If you or a loved one has been injured after being attacked by a dangerous dog, contact the Michigan dangerous dog lawyers of Ravid & Associates, P.A., by calling 1-877-PETBITE.
