Ohio man gets time for dog attack

Posted on December 27th, 2011 No Comments

A 61 year-old man from Ohio will serve nine months in jail after allowing his pit bull to attack a man who owed him $10.

The man was originally charged with felony assault but plead guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated assault. According to police officers, the 46 year-old man who was attacked owed the dog owner $20 after the two helped install a screen door at someone’s house. He gave the man $10 when he went to his house two hours after installing the door.

The man returned again, this time with his dog, and attempted to pry open a window. When the 46 year-old came outside, the man ordered his dog to attack him. He received severe injuries to his arms, which later required surgery, and was bleeding from his head. The dog’s owner told law enforcement his dog never received shots.
