Pet monkey attacks owner, shot by friend

Posted on September 5th, 2012 No Comments

A Florida couple’s pet Macaque monkey was shot dead by the owner’s friend after the animal became scared and began to attack. The man suffered deep bites on his buttocks, thighs, and severe damage to his right hand.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple treated the monkey like a member of the family. He would often wear human clothing, diapers, and play with their young children. They had the Macaque for nine years before the mid-August attack.

The owner’s hand wounds have forced him to undergo two three-hour surgeries, caused nerve and tendon damage, and required more than 200 stitches.
