Pet python bites woman’s face

Posted on January 31st, 2012 No Comments

A 31 year-old woman was bitten by a friend’s pet python earlier this month after she took it out of its terrarium.

The snake, a 17 year-old ball python, bit the woman’s right cheek and would not let go for several minutes. The snake’s owner was able to detach the snake safely from her friend’s face.

According to local police, the woman had previous experience holding snakes and did not believe she was putting herself in danger. Ball pythons are smaller species of the common household pythons, which are usually docile. Luckily, the snake is not poisonous and the woman did not suffer any scars or emotional trauma.
