Pet store python bites employee

Posted on March 20th, 2012 No Comments

An employee at a Massachusetts pet store was bitten on the hand by a six-foot, 65 pound python last week as he tried to feed the snake. The albino Burmese python sank its fangs into the man’s hand and began to wrap itself around his arm.

Firefighters, paramedics, and poison control were called to the scene. According to the fire chief, he put on gloves and then put both of his thumbs inside of the snake’s mouth to loosen its grip. It took three firefighters to safely put the python back in its cage.

The employee was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was back at work the next day with a bandaged, swollen hand with what looked like stitches.
