Pontiac woman and pet injured in pit bull attack

Posted on March 12th, 2012 No Comments

A Pontiac woman and her small dog are recovering from serious injuries after two pit bulls attacked them in her front yard over the weekend.

Neighbors heard the attack and rescued the woman and her dog by chasing the pit bulls away with shovels and sticks. The woman says she saw the two dogs running toward her, so she scooped up her small dog and ran but tripped and fell.

She was treated for a bite on her hand. Her dog’s condition is not known, though it did not suffer life-threatening injuries. Pit bulls are banned in a dozen cities and at least ten municipalities across Michigan, but not in Pontiac.
