Teen Girl Bitten by Dog in Royal Oak Township

Posted on January 31st, 2013 No Comments

A 14-year-old girl was bitten by a dog while playing in a park in Royal Oak Township just over a week ago. She was taken to Providence Hospital after suffering from dog bite injuries on her abdomen and right foot.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, two boys, ages 8 and 10, took their dog for a walk around 5 p.m. and unleashed their pet into the fenced-in park where the girl was.

Police have yet to determine whether the boys intentionally unleashed the dog to harm the girl or it was just an accident, although they said the two boys and the victim are not strangers.

The dog is now in the custody of the Oakland County Animal Control.

Each year, many people are injured as a result of dog bites. If you have been harmed by a dog attack, call a Michigan dog bite lawyer of Ravid & Associates, P.C., at 877-PET-BITE today to learn about your legal options.
