Texas hospital reviews pit bull dog bite cases

Posted on May 9th, 2011 No Comments

Doctors and nurses in a Texas hospital have collected data of pit bull attacks in the past 15 years and some believe that it will cause a new stir to ban pit bulls.

The University Hospital found that a pit bull is more likely to kill a person than any other breed of dog. Records show that all three deaths that occurred at the San Antonio hospital, where the study was done, were due to pit bull attacks.

In addition to the fatalities, pit bull attacks were more likely to cause serious injury and the victims are more likely to be in the hospital and once admitted, the medical bills were more costly. Some officials believe that although fatal dog attacks are rare, there may be a link between the the lethality of the attack and the breed.
