TV anchor discusses her injuries

Posted on February 21st, 2012 No Comments

The Denver news anchor who was bitten on air by an Argentine mastiff earlier this month says she needed 70 stitches on her lips and nose following her reconstructive surgery.

According to her Facebook page, she is unable to speak because her mouth has been stitched shut in order to help a skin graft take and to get blood circulating in her lips. The woman is expected to undergo another procedure in a few weeks.

The dog that attacked her has been released from animal control will not face any serious repercussions. Its owner, however, is expected in court at the end of the month after he was cited for not having his pet on a leash and allowing it to bite.
